Stable and Supportive Environment for Insurance Professionals
Pros: Working here has given me a lot of job security, which is a huge plus in the insurance industry. My colleagues are really supportive, and there are good opportunities to learn new skills. The benefits package is competitive, and I appreciate the hybrid work option.
Cons: Career growth can sometimes feel a bit slow, and getting approvals for things can take a while due to the size of the company. Communication on broader company changes could also be clearer.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining internal approval processes and enhancing transparency around career development paths to help employees grow faster.

Hybrid Model Helps, But Workload Is Heavy
Pros: The hybrid model is a big plus; getting two WFH days a week makes a huge difference for errands and appointments. As an Associate Underwriter, the day-to-day usually sticks to a decent 40-45 hours, which is solid for the corporate insurance world.
Cons: But there are definitely busy seasons or big client pushes in the insurance industry where you're working over 50 hours, and it's tough to say no. It can really eat into your personal time, especially if you're trying to manage a family.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage the peaks and valleys of workload for the underwriting teams. More support during busy periods would really help prevent burnout among insurance professionals.

Work-life balance is decent, but can vary
Pros: As an Associate Underwriter, the hybrid work setup is a big plus. You get some flexibility, which helps with personal appointments. Most weeks are a pretty standard 40 hours in the corporate insurance industry, which is decent.
Cons: Peak seasons or large accounts can really pile on the work, making long hours unavoidable. Sometimes, there's pressure to hit aggressive targets, and that definitely impacts your personal time. It's not always easy to disconnect from your desk.
Advice to Management: Try to manage workloads better during peak times to prevent burnout. Encourage managers to respect off-hours more.
