Associate Brand Manager

Decent pay, but work-life balance is tough
Pros: I've learned a ton in my Associate Brand Manager role here. The hybrid model is good, letting me work from home a few days. My team is generally supportive, which helps when retail deadlines get crazy.
Cons: Honestly, the work-life balance for CPG marketing roles can be pretty demanding. Long hours are common, especially around product launches. It's a big corporate environment, so things move slow but expectations are always high.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage workloads, especially for junior roles like Associate Brand Manager. Help teams set more realistic expectations around product launches.

Hybrid work is okay for CPG, but not great
Pros: You do get some hybrid work here, which is better than being fully onsite. Usually, it's 3 days in the White Plains, NY office, which is fine for collaboration and team meetings. It's a solid setup for a large corporate environment in consumer packaged goods.
Cons: The 'flexibility' for our hybrid work isn't really there. As a Marketing Coordinator, you're often expected to be in on specific days, even when there's no real reason for it. It feels like some managers just want to see butts in seats, not trust us with remote work for independent tasks.
Advice to Management: Really look at what roles truly need to be in the White Plains, NY office for specific tasks. Trust your teams more with remote work for independent tasks in consumer packaged goods. Make hybrid work actually flexible.

Associate Brand Manager

Stable CPG company, slow growth.
Pros: The benefits are pretty good, and the work-life balance for an Associate Brand Manager was usually solid. I typically stuck to 40-45 hours in the White Plains, NY office. It's a stable place in the consumer packaged goods industry.
Cons: My main issue was career growth. Promotions are really slow, and there aren't many clear paths to move up, especially in marketing roles. I felt a bit stuck without much chance for new challenges.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create clearer career paths and more opportunities for internal advancement, especially for mid-level marketing roles. Succession planning seems weak.
