Junior Reporter

Tough hours in digital media, good exposure
Pros: You learn a lot really fast, especially for entry-level roles in the digital media industry. There's good exposure to big stories, and the team in the Jakarta office is generally supportive, making the tough deadlines a bit more bearable. Sometimes there's flexibility if you're not on a breaking news cycle.
Cons: Work-life balance isn't great, especially for Junior Reporter positions. Expect to work long hours, often including weekends and holidays, due to the 24/7 news cycle. The demand for quick content means late nights are common, even with a hybrid work setup, which can really burn you out.
Advice to Management: Try to staff better for peak times to reduce burnout for content teams. Even in a fast-paced industry, better scheduling for reporters could improve retention.

Pay's okay, benefits could be better
Pros: As a Content Writer, the base salary here isn't bad for a Jakarta office role in digital media. You get decent health insurance, which is a big plus. It's a stable job in a big media company.
Cons: The annual raises are pretty small, sometimes non-existent, especially for junior roles. There's not much room for salary negotiation when you start, and bonuses aren't really a thing. They could improve the overall benefit package beyond basic healthcare.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into more competitive annual raises and introduce performance-based bonuses. It would help retain talent, especially for crucial content writer roles.
