Work-life balance is okay, but it's a startup
Pros: You get to work on interesting challenges in the food delivery app space. The team here is pretty smart, and I learned a lot as a Software Engineer. The hybrid model definitely helps with some flexibility.
Cons: Work-life balance can be tough sometimes, especially during product launches. It's a startup, so long hours are common, and it's hard to avoid working late in the San Francisco office. Weekends can get impacted when deadlines loom.
Advice to Management: Try to set clearer boundaries for project deadlines and encourage teams to disconnect. More support for work-life integration would really help, especially for engineers.

Remote Flexibility is Solid for Engineering
Pros: The remote-first policy for us as Software Engineers was really good. It made managing personal stuff way easier. For a startup in the food delivery industry, they've got decent work-from-home options.
Cons: Work flexibility is a bit less for operational roles or those needing to be onsite in the San Francisco, CA office. Sometimes you feel a bit disconnected from other teams. It's not a truly hybrid model for everyone.
Advice to Management: Think about expanding remote or hybrid work options for all departments, not just engineering. It would help a lot with overall employee morale across the whole company.

Good for learning, tough for upward movement
Pros: Working as a Software Engineer at Hangry, I got tons of hands-on experience quickly. This food delivery industry startup lets you touch a lot of different tech. It's solid for picking up new skills fast, especially if you're new to the industry.
Cons: But career growth here isn't great, honestly. There's no clear path for promotions or moving into senior roles. As a remote employee, it's even tougher to get that mentorship for advancement.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create clearer career progression paths for Software Engineers. Invest in mentorship programs, especially for remote team members, to show there's a future here.
