Pros: The base salary as a Software Engineer is pretty good, especially for the San Francisco market. I've gotten some solid performance bonuses too, which helps keep the total compensation competitive within big tech.
Cons: Health insurance options aren't great; the premiums are high and coverage feels pretty basic for the Bay Area. Also, the 401k match is pretty weak, it's not really helping with long-term savings for someone in a corporate role.
Advice to Management: Seriously re-evaluate the benefits package. Healthcare premiums are too high, and the 401k match needs to be more competitive to attract and retain top engineering talent in the San Francisco office.
