Good place for early career, needs structure
Pros: It's a fast-paced environment, so you get lots of opportunities to pick up new skills in this SaaS company. The remote work setup is pretty flexible, which is a huge plus. Good for getting hands-on experience as a Junior Software Engineer.
Cons: The career path isn't super clear for a Junior Software Engineer. It's tough to see how to advance without a formal growth plan. Sometimes projects get dropped with no real explanation, which can be frustrating.
Advice to Management: Create clearer career progression frameworks for all roles. Junior Software Engineers really need a roadmap to see how they can grow into more senior positions.

Hybrid setup is okay, but could improve
Pros: The hybrid work model is a solid start for a San Francisco startup. It's good to get some time in the office with the team for software engineer collaboration. We don't have to be onsite five days a week.
Cons: Actual work flexibility is pretty limited; WFH days are fixed. It's tough to shift your schedule around, which isn't ideal when you're busy with development sprints. There's not much room to work remote full-time.
Advice to Management: Rize should consider more trust-based WFH policies. Allow teams more discretion for their schedules instead of strict hybrid rules.

Rize: Hybrid Model for Data Roles is Decent
Pros: The hybrid work setup is good for Data Analyst roles; you're usually in the Austin, TX office 2-3 days a week. It offers decent flexibility to adjust your start and end times if you need to, which I appreciated.
Cons: True work flexibility isn't consistent across all teams or managers. While some get it, others, especially in more operational fintech roles, have less leeway. The expectation is definitely still heavily on in-office days.
Advice to Management: Standardize the hybrid and flexible work policies across all departments so it's fair for everyone, not just certain teams. Invest in better remote collaboration tools for our fintech projects.
