Junior Auditor

Leadership Can Be A Mixed Bag Here
Pros: My direct senior manager was really supportive, especially for those new to Junior Auditor roles. They put in effort to mentor us in the accounting industry. It made tough projects a bit easier.
Cons: Higher-ups in the corporate environment sometimes felt disconnected. Their decisions didn't always align with daily team struggles working onsite in Jakarta. Communication could definitely improve.
Advice to Management: Try to get more direct feedback from staff below manager level. Their input on project scope and deadlines is crucial.

BDO Jakarta: Culture's fine, but hours are long.
Pros: The team really helps each other out, especially during busy seasons. There's a decent sense of camaraderie in the Jakarta office, which makes the long days in public accounting a bit more bearable. You'll definitely gain solid experience quickly in the accounting industry.
Cons: Work-life balance for audit roles isn't great, it's just the nature of the beast. The corporate environment can feel a bit rigid sometimes, and social events outside of work are rare. It's hard to maintain a personal life with the demanding schedule.
Advice to Management: Management should try to enforce stricter boundaries on work hours. More firm-wide social activities could also help boost morale and foster a stronger overall company culture beyond just team-specific bonds.

Audit Associate

Solid place for a start, but watch out
Pros: Job security here is good for entry-level roles in public accounting. You usually don't worry about being let go if you perform okay. There's always work, especially for audit professionals in the Jakarta office.
Cons: Sometimes the stability feels a bit shaky with leadership changes. They don't have huge layoffs, but performance reviews are taken seriously. You really need to hustle as an Audit Associate.
Advice to Management: Communicate more openly about company direction. Try to manage the workload better for audit teams to prevent burnout and keep good people.
