Pros: The work flexibility here is pretty good for Software Engineer roles. We had a hybrid model that let us work remote for two days a week, which was a huge plus for my commute in the San Francisco office. It made balancing personal stuff much easier.
Cons: Sometimes, the 'flexibility' meant working long hours, especially on big projects. There wasn't much room for career growth, and the compensation wasn't competitive for a tech startup in this market. Leadership could communicate better about company direction.
Advice to Management: Focus on clearer growth paths for engineers and improve pay transparency. Also, make sure 'flexible' doesn't just mean 'always available' for remote workers; protect that work-life balance.
