Hybrid Model Has Some Flexibility for Tech Roles
Pros: As a Software Engineer, the hybrid model works pretty well for me. I can WFH two days a week, which is a big plus. It's great to avoid the Austin, TX traffic on those days. This mid-sized tech company also lets you adjust start times if needed.
Cons: The 'in-office' days feel a bit rigid sometimes. There's not much flexibility on those days, even when my tasks are individual. Getting approval for full remote work is really tough for the development team, even for senior roles, which is a bummer.
Advice to Management: Consider more flexible options for 'in-office' days, especially for individual contributors. Allowing more full remote opportunities would also really help with talent retention in this competitive tech industry.

Decent work-life for junior folks here
Pros: Work-life balance as a Junior Marketing Coordinator is pretty decent. I can usually stick to 40-hour weeks in our Austin, TX office, which is nice. The hybrid work schedule really helps too, giving some flexibility.
Cons: It's tougher for folks in more senior roles; I see them putting in way more hours. During big sales events, typical for an e-commerce startup, everyone feels the crunch. That can make overall team balance a bit stressful.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage the workload for senior staff. It'd help morale and show a commitment to work-life balance across the board, not just for entry-level roles.
