Pros: I've been able to enjoy a pretty good hybrid model as a Software Engineer, usually two days in the San Francisco office. It's nice to have some control over my schedule, especially with personal appointments.
Cons: Full remote work isn't really an option here, which is tough if you're not in the Bay Area. Also, work flexibility really depends on your manager and team within this tech startup; it's not consistent.
Advice to Management: Standardize the hybrid policies across all engineering teams. It would help a lot with retention and fairness.

Pros: The health insurance benefits are actually quite solid here, which is a big plus for a mid-sized startup. They offer a decent 401k match too, which helps with long-term planning.
Cons: Pay for software engineering roles, especially at the junior level in the Austin, TX office, feels a bit below market compared to bigger tech companies. There's not much room to negotiate salary and yearly raises are minimal.
Advice to Management: Re-evaluate the salary bands for junior and mid-level software developers to be more competitive with the Austin tech market. Consider offering better performance-based bonuses to incentivize high-performing employees.
