Leadership needs to step up at Xylem
Pros: The teams on the ground, especially for Manufacturing Engineer roles, are solid. You learn a lot about industrial pumps and wastewater solutions here. The benefits package is actually quite decent.
Cons: Leadership often feels out of touch with daily operations in the Charlotte, NC plant. Decisions come from way above without much input from us. There's a real lack of clear vision from the top.
Advice to Management: Listen more to the people actually doing the work. Engage with the frontline staff more often. A better understanding of daily challenges would really help improve morale and efficiency.

Decent Pay, Benefits Could Use a Boost
Pros: The base salary for an Electrical Engineer here is pretty solid, especially if you're early career. It's a stable gig in the water technology industry, which is a big plus.
Cons: Annual raises are often just okay, and bonuses aren't very competitive for a big corporate environment. The 401k match could be better compared to other places in the Charlotte, NC office.
Advice to Management: Really look at the total compensation package. Improving the 401k match and making annual raises more impactful would help retain talent in engineering roles.

Project Manager

Culture's okay, depends on your team.
Pros: I've gained solid experience in water infrastructure projects as a Project Manager. My immediate team in the Raleigh, NC office was genuinely supportive and collaborative, which made day-to-day work much better. You get good exposure to global operations.
Cons: The overall company culture can feel a bit rigid; it's definitely a large corporate environment. There's not much work flexibility, so don't expect a lot of remote options. Decision-making for new fluid management initiatives often takes way too long.
Advice to Management: Try to empower teams more and streamline decision-making processes. A bit more flexibility, especially for high-performing roles, would really help with retention and overall morale.
