Pros: The team's pretty good, and the remote work flexibility is a big plus. It's a solid start for an entry-level editorial role in scientific media, and I've had solid work-life balance here.
Cons: Career progression is a real drag. You don't see many internal promotions for Associate Editors, and it feels like you hit a ceiling pretty fast. They don't really invest much in professional development for us.
Advice to Management: Focus on creating clear paths for advancement, especially for editorial roles. Invest more in training and mentorship for your staff.

Pros: I do like that there's a set hybrid model, with two specific remote days each week. It's nice not being in the Bristol office all five days. It helps cut down on commuting costs and gives a bit of a break.
Cons: The remote days are fixed, so there's not much wiggle room if you need more flexibility on a different day. It's not really possible to shift things around, which can be hard when personal stuff comes up. I wish it was more flexible for publishing roles.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more choice in which days can be remote or allowing for more ad-hoc remote work when needed. A bit more autonomy on schedules would go a long way for employee morale, especially in this academic publishing environment.
