Pros: I liked the initial flexibility; I could work-from-home most days as an Implementation Consultant. It made managing personal appointments much easier. Some teams have more remote options for their healthcare IT roles, which is a big plus.
Cons: The hybrid work policy isn't consistent across all teams. For client-facing roles like mine, there are unexpected onsite client visits that can mess up your schedule. True work-life balance is tough to maintain sometimes, especially during peak EHR implementation periods.
Advice to Management: Standardize the hybrid policies across all departments. Give more notice for onsite requirements, especially for those remote from the Kansas City area, to truly support work flexibility for employees.

Pros: The health benefits package is pretty solid for a mid-sized corporate company. You get decent PTO right from the start, which is a plus. It's a stable industry.
Cons: Salary for a Software Engineer feels a bit low for the Kansas City market. Annual raises are small, sometimes they're nonexistent. Bonuses don't really move the needle for technical roles.
Advice to Management: Seriously revisit salary bands, especially for technical positions like Software Engineers. Make raises more substantial to retain talent and stay competitive in the health tech space.
