Decent pay, but benefits are just average
Pros: The base salary as a Software Engineer was okay, especially if you're early in your career. The remote work setup from Atlanta, GA, was a huge plus for flexibility. I also liked that the 401k match started fast.
Cons: For someone with experience in software development, the pay felt a bit low compared to other big corporate IT services firms. Health insurance costs were pretty high, which eats into your take-home. Don't expect much in terms of bonuses or other generous perks.
Advice to Management: Review the compensation packages for experienced engineering roles to stay competitive. Also, consider improving the health benefits offerings to make them more attractive.

Pay is Decent, Benefits are Standard
Pros: The base salary for a Senior Software Engineer is pretty competitive, especially working remote from Austin, TX. Health insurance plans are decent, and they have a standard 401k match, which is good.
Cons: Annual raises are usually pretty small, so it's tough to really grow your compensation year over year. The bonus structure for engineering consulting projects isn't always clear, and it feels like it's tied more to overall company performance than individual effort.
Advice to Management: Focus on making the annual raise process more transparent and competitive. It would really help retain talent in specific engineering roles.

Work-Life Balance Can Be a Real Mixed Bag
Pros: Working remote was a huge plus for me; it offered some decent work flexibility. You do get to work on cool digital transformation projects sometimes. There's potential to learn new tech.
Cons: The work-life balance, especially as a software engineer on client projects, can be tough. It's not uncommon to put in 50+ hour weeks, particularly during crunch times. Client demands often dictate your personal schedule.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to empower team leads to push back on unrealistic client expectations. Supporting teams better would help prevent burnout and improve the work-life balance for engineering consultants.
