Job Security Can Be a Bit Shaky Here
Pros: I've learned a ton about cloud software and unified communications. There's good exposure to modern tech stacks if you're a Software Engineer here. The remote setup is solid, truly WFH from Austin, TX.
Cons: Job security isn't its strong suit, especially with recent layoffs. You really can't get too comfortable, even in big tech companies like this. It feels like reorgs are always looming.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to focus on transparent communication around company strategy and job stability. It's tough on morale when everyone's worried about the next round of layoffs.

RingCentral Culture is Okay, Could Be Better
Pros: The team I worked with as an SDR was solid, really supportive. You'll definitely learn a lot about SaaS sales and cloud communications. They're also pretty good about offering remote work flexibility.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit fragmented, especially being remote from Denver. There's a lot of pressure to hit sales targets, and sometimes it feels like management doesn't really connect with individual contributors. It's tough to build strong bonds outside your immediate team.
Advice to Management: Try to foster more cross-team engagement and ensure remote employees feel more connected. Listen to feedback from Sales Development Representatives about the pressure.

Remote work is okay, culture needs work
Pros: Working remote as an Account Executive is solid here. They're a big player in UCaaS, so the product definitely helps sometimes. The WFH setup is decent, I've had good equipment and support.
Cons: The company culture feels pretty corporate and kinda distant. There's a lot of pressure, especially in cloud communications sales, and it can feel cutthroat. Leadership changes a lot, so you don't always know who's making decisions.
Advice to Management: Focus on creating a more cohesive company culture for remote teams. Less talk about just numbers, more about employee well-being and clear communication from leadership.

Remote Work is Good, But Hours Are Tight
Pros: It's awesome to be fully remote from my home in Texas. That WFH setup saves me so much commute time and stress. For an SDR role, not having to go into an office daily helps me focus on calls.
Cons: Despite being remote, the work flexibility isn't great when it comes to actual hours. You're expected to be online and available for long stretches. There's not much wiggle room for personal appointments during the workday.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more async work options or flexible start/end times. Just being remote isn't enough for true flexibility.

Good Remote, But Sprints Can Be Rough
Pros: Being a remote Software Engineer here is pretty solid. The WFH setup from Austin, TX, lets me manage personal stuff easily. There's decent flexibility in the daily schedule for most tasks within the UCaaS industry.
Cons: Work-life balance can be tough during big sprints. As a developer, I sometimes put in 50+ hours to meet deadlines. On-call rotations for software engineers can also be pretty demanding and impact evenings.
Advice to Management: Try to smooth out the sprint cycles more. The project demands really impact personal time. Maybe look into reducing the on-call burden for engineering teams to improve work-life balance.

Remote Work Helps, But Sales Pressure Hits Balance
Pros: The remote work flexibility is a huge plus, letting me work from home. As an Account Manager, that WFH setup in this big tech company made daily life manageable. Outside of peak sales cycles, you can generally stick to a decent 40-hour week.
Cons: The work-life balance takes a real hit during quarter-end. Sales pressure to close deals for cloud communications solutions gets intense, often meaning long hours and weekend work. It's hard to truly disconnect when you're always focused on hitting those targets.
Advice to Management: Management should try to set more realistic sales goals, especially for remote Account Managers, to alleviate the constant pressure. Better tools or processes could also help teams manage workload more effectively during crunch periods.

Hybrid model helps, but still long hours sometimes
Pros: I've enjoyed the hybrid work arrangement; it's nice to be in the Belmont, CA office a few days and remote the rest. As a software engineer, I can usually hit my targets without working crazy late most of the time. They offer decent PTO, which helps with overall work-life balance.
Cons: There's definitely a constant push for quick releases in this unified communications industry. Sometimes it feels like you're always on call, especially during critical launches. You'll likely put in 50-hour weeks occasionally, which can be tough to manage.
Advice to Management: Try to manage project scopes better so teams aren't constantly burning out. More focus on sustainable workloads for us software engineers would be great.

Okay Balance, Demanding for Sales Roles
Pros: Good benefits, especially for a big tech company. The Belmont, CA office is modern and has a good vibe. You get decent perks.
Cons: Work-life balance for SDR roles can be tough with high quotas in this B2B SaaS environment. It's an onsite position, so zero work-from-home flexibility. Expect to be "on" quite a bit.
Advice to Management: Consider more realistic quotas or better support to prevent burnout for Sales Development Representatives.

Decent Pay, Benefits Need a Boost for SDRs
Pros: The base pay for a Sales Development Representative here is actually pretty good, especially for the SaaS sales space. Health insurance is solid, and that's a big plus. It's a decent entry into the cloud communications industry.
Cons: The bonus structure isn't always clear, which is tough. And honestly, the 401k match could be much better. For a big tech company, I expected a bit more in total compensation, even for a hybrid role.
Advice to Management: Clarify the bonus structure for sales roles and consider increasing the 401k match to be more competitive with other big tech firms. This would really help with retention, especially for hybrid employees.

Job Security is a bit of a mixed bag here
Pros: For a large player in the cloud communications industry, there's a good base salary for SDR roles. The remote work setup is solid, giving you flexibility. If you hit your numbers, you're fine, and the market for UCaaS is still growing.
Cons: There are frequent reorgs, which always makes you a little nervous about your future. Performance metrics are super strict, so you're constantly worried about hitting those targets. It's tough to feel truly secure when changes happen so often.
Advice to Management: Try to reduce the number of major team reorgs. It makes employees question their future and adds a lot of unnecessary stress. Clearer pathways for stability would help.
