Decent Flexibility, But Still a Startup Vibe
DevRev has some good points for remote work, but the startup grind is real. It's not always easy to balance everything, especially in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
I really appreciated the remote work options here. As a Software Engineer, I could set my own hours most days, which was great for personal appointments. They're pretty understanding about WFH flexibility, letting me avoid the usual commute.
The catch is that even with remote work, deadlines are super tight. There's pressure to be "always on" for this SaaS startup, which can make it hard to truly disconnect. Sometimes it feels less flexible than it appears due to constant sprint cycles.
Try to set clearer boundaries for remote teams. While flexibility is advertised, the unspoken expectation for constant availability, especially for engineers building complex developer tools, can negate it. Focus on a more sustainable pace.
