Okay Flexibility, Depends on Your Project
Pros: I liked the team on my recent financial services consulting project; they were pretty understanding. We had a decent hybrid work setup, allowing a few WFH days a week if client permitted.
Cons: The work flexibility really depends on the client and specific project for Consultant roles. Sometimes, you're stuck onsite 5 days, which can mess up your personal plans. It's tough to plan ahead.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize remote or hybrid policies across projects, or at least give consultants more transparency upfront. It'd help a lot with planning.

Leadership is okay, could use more consistency.
Pros: Some senior leaders are genuinely smart and supportive. They know the financial services consulting space really well. It's a good place to learn a lot as a Senior Consultant.
Cons: Leadership can feel really inconsistent depending on your project lead. Communication from higher-ups isn't always clear in the New York City office. Sometimes promises for work-life balance on FinTech projects don't pan out with the hybrid model.
Advice to Management: Work on standardizing leadership training across the board. Ensure all project leads deliver consistent feedback and manage expectations better, especially for financial services consulting roles with the hybrid setup.

Leadership is okay, some managers are great
Pros: Some senior managers in the financial services consulting practice are genuinely supportive. They'll go to bat for you on client projects. It's helpful for new Associate Consultants to have that guidance.
Cons: Leadership consistency isn't there across the board. You get a wide range of managers, some are very hands-off. It can be tough to navigate the hybrid model without clear direction.
Advice to Management: Standardize leadership training and expectations for all project leads. Make sure all managers are equipped to support their teams, especially with the hybrid model. More consistent mentorship programs would help younger Associate Consultants.
