Kroll offers solid growth if you're proactive
Pros: You get to work on diverse projects in areas like due diligence and valuation services, which is great exposure for consulting roles. There's a lot of opportunity for learning new skills if you speak up and show initiative. It's a solid place for gaining experience in the financial advisory industry.
Cons: Career progression isn't always clear-cut; you really need to network and advocate for yourself. Sometimes you feel a bit lost on how to get to that next promotion without a very structured path. The formal training programs could be stronger for junior staff.
Advice to Management: Create clearer, more transparent paths for career progression, especially for junior Associate Consultants. Invest more in structured mentorship and formal training programs to ensure everyone has a fair shot at advancing.

Leadership is hit or miss, depends on your team
Pros: Some senior leaders are really supportive, especially in our New York City office. They're good at mentoring new talent and give you space to grow as a Senior Consultant. The hybrid model for work helps with flexibility too.
Cons: Other teams, though, have leaders who are pretty hands-off or micro-manage. It can make day-to-day work tough, and career growth discussions sometimes feel like an afterthought. Decisions from top leadership often feel out of touch.
Advice to Management: Invest more in consistent leadership training across all departments and locations. Make sure managers are equipped to handle team issues and offer clearer career paths. Transparency from corporate leadership would help a lot.

Culture is solid but can be tough
Pros: You learn a ton, especially as a junior Consultant in financial services consulting. There are smart people around, always good for bouncing ideas. The hybrid work setup in the New York City office gives some flexibility.
Cons: Work-life balance for client-facing Consultant roles is a real struggle. The corporate culture can feel very 'billable hours' driven, making it tough to step away. It often feels like you're always on.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into better managing workloads for consulting teams. It's hard to build a strong team culture when everyone is constantly burned out. Maybe more support staff or clearer project scoping would help.
