Remote Dev Pay is Fine, Benefits Need Work
Pros: As a Junior Software Developer, the base pay for remote software engineering roles here is pretty competitive for a medium-sized tech company, even remote from Denver, CO. The health insurance package is also solid.
Cons: However, the 401k matching program isn't very generous; it's definitely below industry standard. Don't count on annual bonuses or robust professional development stipends either.
Advice to Management: Consider enhancing the 401k match to be more competitive for software engineering roles. Offering clearer paths for performance bonuses would also really boost morale for remote employees.

Leadership Can Be Hit or Miss
Pros: Some senior managers are really supportive, especially if you're new to a Project Coordinator role. They genuinely want to see you grow, and the hybrid work setup in Chicago is solid, which is nice.
Cons: But there's inconsistency. Some team leads lack clear direction, and it feels like decisions get made without consulting the project teams. For a corporate environment, communication from the top could be way better.
Advice to Management: Managers need to be on the same page and communicate big picture goals more clearly. Better training for new team leads on effective project oversight would help.

Decent Flexibility, But Could Improve for Hybrid Roles
Pros: I did appreciate the hybrid model; it wasn't full-time in the office. As a Project Coordinator, I could work from home two days a week, which was a good start. It's nice not commuting every single day in Austin, TX.
Cons: Honestly, true remote work options are tough to get unless you're senior. For entry-level Project Coordinator roles, you're expected in the office a lot. The flexibility felt limited sometimes when I needed more WFH days.
Advice to Management: Consider allowing more remote days for roles that don't require constant onsite presence. Trust your teams more.
