Okay for Exposure, But Growth Is Client-Dependent
My time at CoDev Philippines was okay. It's a typical IT outsourcing company where your experience really depends on your client. Good for getting some work on your resume, but don't expect a clear career path here.
You can get exposure to different client projects if you're lucky. As a remote software engineer, it's a decent way to build your portfolio. It's good for getting experience in the IT outsourcing space and working remote from the Philippines.
Career growth isn't really driven by CoDev itself. Your advancement depends totally on the client you're assigned to, which feels a bit random. Internal promotions for us aren't common in this BPO setup, so personal development can stall.
Try to create more internal growth paths, not just rely on client projects for employee development. Invest in some training programs that aren't client-specific.
