Leadership Needs More Vision for Product Teams
It's a solid place to work for the most part, especially within product development. The products themselves, like Invisalign, are truly impactful in the dental technology space. But there are definite issues at the top with leadership direction.
I liked working with my immediate team as a Product Manager. Everyone's really smart and dedicated, which makes the day-to-day pretty good. Plus, working on a global product like Invisalign in the dental technology industry is genuinely cool and impactful. The San Jose office vibe is decent for a big tech company, and we have solid benefits.
Leadership can feel a bit disconnected from what's happening on the ground. Sometimes it's hard to get clear direction, especially for long-term product strategy. Decision-making for the core product roadmap often takes too long or changes unexpectedly, which can be tough for execution. There's not always a clear vision from upper management.
Management really needs to improve communication and provide a clearer, more consistent product strategy. Empowering teams to move faster with less red tape would also help a lot for us product development folks.
