Hybrid model makes flexibility a bit tough
Pros: The company offers decent PTO, so you can plan personal time pretty well. For some project-based roles, there's still a good bit of autonomy, especially if you need to pop out for an appointment during the workday. This is helpful in the fast-paced CPG industry.
Cons: The new hybrid model is pretty rigid now, requiring specific in-office days. As a Brand Manager, it means less spontaneous WFH when you really need it. It's not truly flexible work for most corporate employees anymore, which can be a bummer for work-life balance.
Advice to Management: Revisit the hybrid policy to allow more department-level flexibility. Trust your employees to get the work done without such strict in-office mandates. True work flexibility boosts morale.

Leadership is decent but needs a stronger vision
Pros: I've had some really solid direct managers here in the Battle Creek office. They genuinely care about their teams and provide good support. The company itself is stable, which is great for job security in the CPG market. It's a hybrid work model, which is a plus.
Cons: Upper leadership can be slow to make decisions, which gets frustrating for projects. Sometimes, it feels like there isn't a clear direction for where the brand is heading, especially as a Marketing Associate trying to execute campaigns. Decent Pay for CPG, Benefits are Okay
Pros: The base salary for a Supply Chain Analyst here in Battle Creek, MI is pretty solid for the CPG industry. They've got a decent 401k match, which is good if you're thinking long-term. Health insurance is comprehensive, not too many hidden costs.
Cons: Annual raises are usually pretty small, barely keeping up with inflation. Bonuses aren't very transparent and often feel underwhelming, especially compared to larger tech companies. Stock options or other long-term incentives aren't really a thing for most roles, which is a miss.
Advice to Management: Look at making annual raises more impactful and consider more robust long-term incentive programs for all employees, not just senior leadership.

Decent work-life balance for CPG Marketing roles
Pros: I've found the work-life balance pretty decent here, especially for a big corporate company in the CPG industry. Most weeks, I actually hit around 40 hours as a Marketing Manager. There's also solid vacation time you can actually use.
Cons: There are definitely crunch times, especially around big product launches for our snack brands. Sometimes the hybrid model means you're in the Chicago office but still on calls with folks in other time zones. Weekends are usually fine, but expect late nights occasionally.
