Pay's okay, but benefits could be better
Pros: The base salary for a Sales Executive here is actually decent, especially for the chemical distribution industry in Singapore. I've always gotten my commissions on time, which is a big plus.
Cons: Healthcare benefits are just okay; they could definitely be more comprehensive. The annual bonus structure isn't very transparent, and there aren't many extra perks compared to other corporate environments.
Advice to Management: Look into improving the healthcare package and make the annual bonus targets clearer. Better perks would also help with employee retention.

Flexibility is Tough Here, Especially Onsite
Pros: I've met some genuinely good people in the Singapore office. The client base for specialty chemicals distribution is stable, which means pretty solid job security if you're good at your role. It's a decent corporate environment overall.
Cons: Work flexibility is a real challenge for Account Manager roles. They push for onsite work heavily, so WFH options are super limited, even when it makes sense. It's hard to manage personal stuff with these strict onsite requirements.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more genuine hybrid work options for roles like Account Manager, especially when it doesn't impact client service. It would really help with employee morale and work-life balance in the Singapore office.

Leadership Could Use Some Work Here
Pros: The team members are solid, lots of smart people in the Singapore office. As a Supply Chain Coordinator, I got good exposure to the specialty chemicals distribution side, which helps with career growth. Pay for a mid-sized distributor in this industry is decent.
Cons: Leadership often seems out of touch with daily operations, especially for logistics roles. Decision-making can be slow and not very transparent, which makes things tough. There's not much clear direction or consistent communication from the top.
Advice to Management: Try to be more present and communicate decisions clearly across APAC. Connect more with the teams on the ground, particularly in operations and supply chain, to truly understand our challenges. Transparency would go a long way.

Decent place for now, but growth is slow
Pros: Stability in the chemical distribution sector is a big plus. The WFH flexibility is pretty good, definitely helps with work-life balance for my Sales Coordinator role. My daily tasks are manageable.
Cons: Career growth is definitely a challenge; there aren't many clear paths to move up from my Sales Coordinator role. Promotions feel few and far between, and internal mobility isn't really a thing. The corporate structure feels a bit rigid for advancement.
Advice to Management: Focus more on developing clearer career paths and promoting from within. It would really help retain talent, especially for roles like Sales Coordinator in the Singapore office. Invest in training for growth opportunities.

Solid Operations, Slow Career Path
Pros: The team in the Singapore office is generally supportive, and daily tasks for a Logistics Coordinator are clear. You get decent job security working in specialty chemicals distribution, which is good.
Cons: Career growth here is tough. There aren't many opportunities to move up, especially for operations roles. Internal mobility feels really limited, so you can get stuck pretty fast.
Advice to Management: Management should really look into creating clearer career paths. It would help a lot with retaining talent, especially for core operational roles like mine.

Decent culture, but watch out for long days
Pros: The team here is generally friendly and supportive. We often help each other out, which is great for new hires in the industry. There's a decent sense of community, especially for onsite work.
Cons: Work-life balance can be tough, especially for supply chain roles. It's common for projects to run over, making for long days. Sometimes it feels like there's a disconnect between different departments.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project scope to prevent burnout for employees. More cross-departmental communication would definitely help things feel more cohesive.

Solid Corporate Role, Culture Needs Update
Pros: There's good camaraderie within the sales teams. The company offers solid benefits for a corporate setup. I appreciated the hybrid work model; it gave me needed flexibility.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit old-school sometimes. Decision-making for new distribution strategies takes ages in the Singapore office. Leadership communication often lacks clarity.
Advice to Management: Modernize the company culture and improve communication on new initiatives. Empower local teams more for faster market response in the Asia Pacific region. Don't be afraid to innovate.

Okay flexibility, but hours can be rough
Pros: As a Sales Executive, there's decent work flexibility sometimes. I could often manage my own schedule for client visits in the chemical distribution industry. The hybrid model helped a lot with that.
Cons: But honestly, the work-life balance isn't always there. The pressure to hit targets is intense, meaning many 50+ hour weeks. It's tough, especially in the Singapore office, and weekend work happens.
Advice to Management: Management should really look at how to ease the sales pressure. Setting more realistic targets would help prevent burnout for the sales team.
