Good start, but growth is slow
Pros: As a Junior Software Engineer, I got solid training when I joined. My team lead was good at mentorship. It's a stable company in the cloud services industry if you just want to learn the ropes.
Cons: Career growth here is tough. There aren't many clear promotion paths, and it felt like I was stuck. Raises are slow to come by, even after taking on more responsibility. The hybrid work model also means less face time for visibility with senior leadership.
Advice to Management: Create clearer career paths and promotion criteria for all roles. Invest more in internal development programs and make sure managers are actively advocating for their team members' growth, especially in the Dublin office.

Ekco's Culture: Good People, Growing Pains
Pros: As a Cloud Engineer here, I've worked with some genuinely smart and supportive folks in the Dublin office. There's a decent sense of team spirit, and they do try to offer a hybrid work model, which is nice.
Cons: The company culture can feel a bit fragmented sometimes, especially with the rapid growth. It's tough to get clear communication from leadership, and that really impacts cross-team collaboration.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving internal communication and creating a more unified culture across different departments. It'd help a lot with retention and employee morale.

Solid work-life balance for cloud roles
Pros: I've found the work-life balance okay, especially as a Cloud Engineer. The hybrid model is a huge plus, giving me some flexibility from the Dublin office. We mostly stick to 40-hour weeks, which is good for this industry.
Cons: Sometimes, there's pressure during major client projects, which is typical for managed IT services. It can be tough to completely switch off then. Overtime isn't common, but it does pop up when things get crazy.

Solid place for IT infrastructure pros
Pros: I've felt pretty secure here as a Cloud Engineer. Our managed services contracts are long-term, so there's always work. They're also investing in new technologies, which is good for skill growth.
Cons: There have been a few internal reorgs that made folks nervous. Sometimes project-based roles feel a bit less secure. It isn't always clear how company growth impacts specific teams.
Advice to Management: Be more transparent about strategic shifts and how they impact job security. Clear communication during reorgs really helps morale, especially for those in specific IT infrastructure roles.

Pay's fine, but benefits could be better
Pros: The base salary for a Cloud Solutions Engineer in the Dublin office is pretty decent for the local IT sector. I've heard some senior technical roles can get good equity options, which is a nice perk for long-term employees.
Cons: The benefits package itself feels a bit bare-bones compared to other European tech companies in the cloud services space. Don't expect top-tier health insurance or a really generous pension matching plan for all roles. Annual raises aren't always great, even with good performance reviews.
Advice to Management: Review the overall benefits package and make it more competitive, especially for non-senior technical staff. It's tough to retain good talent with just an okay base salary when the industry offers more attractive perks.

Hybrid model is okay, but it's still corporate.
Pros: The hybrid model is solid. You get a few days working from home, which helps with the commute to the Dublin office. For some cloud services projects, you can really manage your time well.
Cons: True flexibility can be tough, especially for client-facing IT solutions roles. There's pressure to be in for team meetings, even when remote work is fine. It feels less flexible than other mid-sized tech companies.
Advice to Management: Trust teams more with full remote options when possible. Managers should empower Cloud Solutions Architect teams to decide where they work best, rather than forcing specific office days for the sake of it.

Good tech experience, but work-life balance is tough.
Pros: The learning opportunities are solid here for a Cloud Engineer. I've gained lots of experience with diverse cloud solutions and modern infrastructure. The team in the Dublin office is generally supportive, and we learn a lot from each other. It's a mid-sized company with interesting projects.
Cons: Work-life balance is a genuine struggle for technical roles, especially in managed services. I often put in more than 40-hour weeks. Remote flexibility can be hit or miss; it's hard to get true WFH when client deadlines are tight. It gets stressful fast.
Advice to Management: Please look at staffing levels to reduce the workload for technical teams. Prioritize actual 40-hour weeks for all employees. Better work-life balance will help with retention and prevent burnout.

Solid Pay for Software Engineers, Benefits are Okay
Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer here is quite competitive in the Dublin market. You won't feel underpaid working in the cloud solutions industry. It's a decent spot for compensation.
Cons: Benefits package feels pretty average though. Health insurance could be better, and there aren't many unique perks. For a mid-sized tech company, I'd expect more than just the basic stuff.
Advice to Management: Review the benefits package to offer more competitive perks beyond the standard. Things like enhanced parental leave or better wellness programs would really help with retention.

Okay Work-Life, Depends on Your Team
Pros: I've had some really good stretches, especially with the hybrid work option. For Cloud Engineer roles, you generally get decent flexibility if your project allows. It's nice not being chained to the desk every day.
Cons: Deadlines can be brutal, especially when launching new services in the tech industry. It's not uncommon to work past 5 PM, and sometimes weekends if there's a critical incident. On-call can be tough too.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize expectations around working hours across different teams. Recognize and reward employees who consistently put in extra time.

Ekco's Remote Work is Okay, Has Its Moments.
Pros: I've been a Cloud Engineer here for a bit, and the remote work flexibility is pretty solid. It's great to manage my own schedule for personal stuff, especially being remote from Ireland. For many IT solutions roles, you can make it work.
Cons: Sometimes, it feels less flexible, especially when client projects hit crunch time. Not all teams get the same level of freedom, which can be frustrating. You're expected to be available during standard business hours even with remote work.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize flexibility policies across all departments and project teams. It would help improve work-life balance for all employees, especially those in demanding IT services roles.
