Decent hybrid model for an EdTech startup
LittleLives is a pretty standard EdTech company. They've got a decent product and some good people, but the work flexibility for roles like a Software Engineer felt a bit restrictive at times. It's not bad, but it's not the most progressive setup either.
I liked the option for hybrid work here. As a Software Engineer, having a couple of WFH days helps with focus and avoids the daily commute in Singapore. The team generally respects boundaries, so you don't feel pressured to be online super late.
Honestly, the 'flexibility' could be better. Sometimes it felt like we were pushed to be in the Singapore office more than needed, even for tasks that could be done remotely. There's less work from home options than I'd hoped for in a modern EdTech startup, especially when deadlines hit.
Listen more to what employees actually need regarding hybrid work. True flexibility can boost morale and productivity, especially for tech roles. Don't just say it, actually implement it.
