Pros: It's a huge corporate environment, so there are definitely chances to move around if you look for them. For Process Engineer roles, you can get exposure to different refinery operations. The internal training budget is decent if you know how to access it.
Cons: Career growth isn't always clear or well-structured. As a Process Engineer, I often felt like I had to build my own path. Promotions for technical roles can be really slow sometimes, and mentorship isn't consistently available.

Pros: Some departments in the Calgary office offer a decent hybrid work arrangement. If you're in a more corporate role, you might get 2-3 days WFH which is pretty good. The benefits package is solid for the energy sector.
Cons: For field roles or us operations engineers, the flexibility just isn't there. It's mostly an onsite setup, standard 8-5, which makes work-life balance tough. There's not much room for changing hours, even for a hybrid model.
Advice to Management: Consider more flexible scheduling options for essential onsite operational roles, even if it's just compressed work weeks. It would really help with employee morale in the oil and gas industry.
