Work-Life Balance Can Be a Real Struggle Here
Pros: For a large corporate in the FMCG sector, the job security is solid, and the benefits package is decent. You know where you stand, and there's a strong network. Some teams in the Bengaluru office do try to support flexible working when possible.
Cons: The work-life balance, honestly, isn't great, especially as an Assistant Manager. You're expected to put in long hours, often late into the evening, which makes it tough to have a personal life. The workload is consistently high, and it's hard to switch off.
Advice to Management: Try to lighten the load for middle management roles. Realistic expectations on working hours would really help prevent burnout and improve employee morale.

Okay Start for Freshers, Then Growth Stalls
Pros: As a Management Trainee, you get solid initial exposure across different departments. They have decent training programs, especially if you're working in the Kolkata office. Good for learning the ropes in the FMCG sector.
Cons: After a couple of years, career growth gets really slow for most roles. It's hard to move up the ladder in this big corporate environment without a lot of internal networking. Opportunities for cross-functional moves within the large conglomerate feel limited.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to focus on creating clearer internal growth paths for employees beyond the initial few years. Open up more cross-functional opportunities within the diverse ITC Limited businesses.

Stable but a bit old-school corporate culture
Pros: It's a really stable Indian conglomerate, which is great for job security. The people in the Kolkata office are generally supportive, and you learn a lot about the traditional FMCG sector. The brand reputation is strong.
Cons: The corporate culture can feel pretty bureaucratic as an Assistant Manager. Decision-making is slow, and there's a lot of hierarchy. It's an onsite work culture with long hours sometimes, which eats into your personal time.
Advice to Management: Try to empower middle management more and speed up the approval processes. A bit more flexibility would really help improve morale for people working onsite.
