Career Growth is Slow, But Stable
Pros: It's a solid place to learn if you're starting out in the data storage industry. As a Software Engineer, I definitely picked up a lot about backend systems and cloud storage solutions. The hybrid work model in the Austin office is a plus.
Cons: Moving up the ladder is really tough here. There's not much room for promotion, especially for mid-level engineers. You kinda hit a ceiling fast if you're looking for serious career advancement.
Advice to Management: Management needs to create clearer paths for advancement for their Software Engineers. Invest in internal training and mentorship for tech professionals to help them grow.

Leadership is Okay, Room for Improvement
Pros: Some team leads and mid-level managers are really solid. They back their teams up and understand the technical challenges in developing new data storage solutions. It's a good place to learn in Austin, TX for entry-level engineer roles.
Cons: Upper management often feels out of touch. Decisions trickle down without much context or transparency, which makes it tough for teams to buy in. There's not much clear direction for career growth, especially for experienced engineers in this big tech company.
Advice to Management: Focus on improving communication from the top down. Give teams more autonomy and context for big decisions. Also, create clearer pathways for career progression beyond just individual contributor tracks for experienced staff.
