Great Flexibility and Learning for a Software Engineer
Pros: Working as a Software Engineer in the cybersecurity industry here is great for flexibility. I appreciate the hybrid/remote work options, which really help my work-life balance. The team is collaborative, and there are good opportunities to learn new tech and grow professionally within this stable company.
Cons: Sometimes internal approvals can be a bit slow, impacting project velocity. While career development is encouraged, the promotion path can feel a bit less clear or slower at times.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining internal approval workflows to enhance project speed. Also, clearer communication around career progression paths would be beneficial for employees looking to advance.

Culture is fine, but it's a big corporate gig
Pros: I liked my team a lot. Everyone on the development team was really supportive, especially when I was working on new cybersecurity solutions. Being remote from Phoenix, AZ was also a huge plus for my work-life balance. We had good WFH flexibility.
Cons: It felt very corporate sometimes. Decision-making for new features, especially in privileged access management, could take forever. There's not much room for quick innovation, which was tough as a Software Engineer. The overall company culture feels a bit stagnant.
Advice to Management: Try to speed up the decision process for new product development. Give engineering teams more autonomy to innovate within the cybersecurity space.

Career Growth Is Decent but Can Be Slow
Pros: I've learned a ton about privileged access management (PAM) and cybersecurity software here. As a Technical Support Engineer, the initial training was solid. They offer decent tuition reimbursement if you want to further your education.
Cons: It's tough to move up internally, especially for individual contributor roles. There isn't a very clear path for career growth past a certain point. Getting internal transfers, even being fully remote from Arizona, can be a real challenge.
Advice to Management: Create clearer career ladders, especially for individual contributors and remote staff. Invest more in internal mentorship programs.

Okay growth if you push for it
Pros: I liked being remote; that's a huge plus. The team for Technical Support Engineer roles is solid and helpful. We get to work on cutting-edge cybersecurity solutions, which is great for experience.
Cons: Career growth can feel stagnant. There isn't a clear path for promotions unless you constantly ask for it. It's tough to move up without leaving your current team or even the company.
Advice to Management: Create more transparent career paths for individual contributors, especially in technical support. Offer clear mentorship and development programs for internal promotion.

Decent place for remote work, but don't expect miracles
Pros: I really appreciated the option to work remote from Dallas, TX. It's a huge benefit for managing personal life, especially for a demanding technical role like ours. The company generally supports flexible schedules for many individual contributor roles.
Cons: True work flexibility can vary wildly by team and specific manager, even with remote options. On-call rotations for Technical Support Engineers can be really tough, and swapping shifts isn't always easy. Don't expect a lot of room for things like compressed work weeks.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize flexibility policies across all teams, especially for on-call rotations for us Technical Support Engineers. It would help a lot with burnout.

Pay is solid, benefits are decent enough
Pros: As a Technical Support Engineer, the base salary was pretty competitive for a cybersecurity firm. I felt like I was paid fairly for my responsibilities. The health insurance plans were solid, and they offered some good options for remote employees.
Cons: Bonuses sometimes felt a bit unclear, especially compared to others in identity and access management. There wasn't much room for stock options for my level, which is common in bigger tech companies. I was hoping for more robust retirement matching, but it was just okay.
Advice to Management: Look into making bonus structures clearer and consider enhancing retirement contributions. More pathways to equity for individual contributors would also be a big draw for attracting top talent in identity and access management.
