Growth is there, but you gotta make it happen
Pros: I've learned a ton as a Software Engineer here, especially by jumping on new projects. There's good access to senior folks for mentorship, which is great for software development skills. The remote work setup offers flexibility.
Cons: Formal career paths are pretty vague. It feels like you really have to push hard for promotions, especially for engineering roles. Leadership doesn't always make it easy to see what steps to take next.
Advice to Management: Make the career progression for engineering roles clearer. Give managers more tools to support their teams' growth and advocacy.

Leadership Has Its Moments, Needs Consistency
Pros: Some project leads are really supportive. They help you grow, especially in complex tech consulting environments. You get good exposure to different clients and technologies under strong mentors here.
Cons: Consistency is a huge problem with leadership. You might have a great manager on one project, then struggle with poor communication on the next. For engineering roles, clear direction is key, and it's often missing, especially with the hybrid model where some leaders don't connect well with remote team members.
Advice to Management: Really focus on management training for all levels. Standardize communication practices across projects, especially for teams working in a hybrid model, to ensure everyone feels connected and informed.

Solid Base Pay, Benefits Need Work
Pros: The base pay as a Software Engineer is pretty solid for a mid-sized tech company. You'll get paid market rate, which is a big plus in the San Francisco Bay Area. The health insurance is also quite good, covers a lot.
Cons: Bonuses are really rare here, which is a bummer. The 401k match isn't super generous, it's only 2%. And for engineering roles, there aren't any stock options, which is a common perk missing in the tech industry.
Advice to Management: Look into improving the 401k match and consider adding some form of equity or performance bonuses for engineering roles. It would help with retention, especially for the hybrid model employees.
