Decent Flexibility for Mobile Developers, Room to Grow
Pros: As a Software Engineer, the hybrid work model is a real plus. We get a few WFH days a week which helps skip some of the brutal Taguig City traffic. It's good for managing personal stuff without eating into vacation time, especially in mobile technology.
Cons: While the hybrid model is okay, the mandatory in-office days can still feel restrictive. There's not much room for truly flexible hours on those days, and for some advanced development roles, more remote options would be better for productivity. It doesn't always feel like true work flexibility.
Advice to Management: Consider offering more fully remote options for senior technical roles within the software development team, especially those who consistently meet their goals. Trusting employees with more autonomy over their work location could boost morale and retention.

Decent Start, Limited Growth for Junior Roles
Pros: As a Junior Software Engineer, you get decent exposure to different mobile content development projects early on. The initial learning curve is solid, especially if you're fresh out of school in the Manila office. It's a fine place to learn the basics.
Cons: Career progression stalls pretty quickly after a year or two; there isn't much room for senior software engineer roles. It's tough to move up unless someone leaves, and formal training for advanced skills is rare in this tech company. Growth for software developers here is just okay.
Advice to Management: Invest more in structured career paths and advanced training for employees to prevent stagnation. Create clearer promotion criteria, especially for software development roles.

Job security isn't its strongest suit
Pros: Working as a Mobile Developer at Xurpas has its moments. You get to tackle cool projects in the digital content industry, which is pretty exciting. The team in the Manila office is generally supportive, and you learn a lot fast.
Cons: But job security is definitely a big concern. There have been some pretty noticeable layoffs when market trends shift or projects get suddenly cancelled. It makes you feel like your position is always on the line, which is tough.
Advice to Management: Management really needs to improve communication about the company's future and project pipelines. More stability and clear growth paths would make people feel a lot safer and more committed. Maybe invest in some reskilling instead of just cutting roles.

Decent Tech Company, Tough Work-Life Balance Sometimes
Pros: I learned a ton about the mobile software industry here. The teams are great, and there's a good sense of camaraderie. They also offer some work-from-home options, which helps a bit with flexibility.
Cons: Crunch times can be intense for developers; sometimes I worked 50+ hour weeks. It's hard to consistently have a good work-life balance, especially for core tech roles. Projects often feel under-resourced.
Advice to Management: Focus on better project management and resource allocation. More realistic deadlines would improve things a lot for the tech team.

Leadership is hit or miss here
Pros: I've learned a lot in mobile development projects. The vibe in the Makati City office can be really good, especially with teammates. It's a decent startup environment for new software engineers.
Cons: Leadership feels disconnected from daily work for us. Decisions often change last minute, which is tough on project timelines. There's not always a clear vision from the top management team.
Advice to Management: Try to communicate better with the engineering teams. A clear roadmap would really help us focus. Listen to the feedback from employees more often.

Okay Flexibility for IT Roles in Manila
Pros: I liked the hybrid work setup available for Software Engineers. It was good to have a few days working from home, which really helps avoid the intense Manila traffic. This flexibility is a solid perk for those in digital services or mobile content development.
Cons: The work from home policy isn't universal across all teams or roles. Some departments are still mostly onsite, which can feel a bit restrictive. It's not a fully remote tech company, so don't expect full WFH.
Advice to Management: Expand the hybrid work model to more teams and make the WFH policy clearer. More flexibility would definitely improve retention, especially for talent in IT solutions.

Decent place for IT, but needs culture work.
Pros: For software developer roles, the work flexibility is okay. They do offer a hybrid model in the Manila office, which is nice for avoiding daily commutes. You can often adjust your start time, which helps with personal appointments.
Cons: The hybrid model isn't always consistent across all teams. Sometimes, managers expect you in more than the set days, which isn't ideal for true WFH. The digital solutions industry moves fast, but internal processes can feel slow and rigid.
Advice to Management: Focus on truly embracing and standardizing work flexibility policies. Encourage more autonomy for IT professionals to foster innovation and a better work-life balance.

Decent place for mobile app development
Pros: The team here is generally supportive, especially as a Software Developer. We get to work on interesting mobile applications. The company culture in the Manila office is pretty chill, especially compared to bigger tech companies.
Cons: Sometimes it feels like there's a lack of clear direction from management. Career growth for tech roles can be a bit slow. It's mostly an onsite setup, so true hybrid work options are rare.
Advice to Management: Focus on clearer roadmaps for digital solutions and invest more in employee development for tech roles. Consider offering more hybrid work options to align with modern industry standards.

Pay is just okay, benefits need improvement
Pros: The good thing is they're always on time with salaries, which is a solid plus for the Philippine tech industry. The health insurance for software developer roles is decent, covering the essentials without any hassle.
Cons: Raises are pretty rare, and honestly, the compensation for a developer in Makati City feels a bit under market given the work. There aren't many perks beyond the basics, so don't expect much extra.
Advice to Management: Management should really look at current market rates for software developer salaries in Metro Manila. Investing more in compensation and offering better perks could help attract and keep talent in the mobile software industry.

Okay Starter Company for Mobile Devs
Pros: I liked the team. Everyone was super supportive, especially as a junior Mobile App Developer. The office vibe was generally relaxed, which is nice for a tech startup in Manila.
Cons: The company culture started great but felt like it shifted over time. It's hard to get real work-life balance sometimes, especially with tight project deadlines. There's not much room for true innovation; it's mostly maintaining existing mobile content.
Advice to Management: Focus more on fostering innovation and clearly defining growth paths for your Software Engineers. This would really help with retention.
