Decent Base for a Growing FinTech Startup
Pros: As a Software Engineer in the Singapore office, the base salary is pretty decent for a FinTech startup. I was making around S$75k, which is competitive enough for someone with a few years experience. They do cover basic health insurance, which is a solid plus.
Cons: The annual bonus wasn't great, and raises felt really slow. Don't expect big tech compensation or fancy perks like free lunch or extensive wellness programs here. Compared to larger digital payments companies, the overall benefit package isn't as robust.
Advice to Management: Focus on enhancing the overall compensation package to attract and retain top talent, especially when competing with larger tech firms. Streamline the promotion and raise process to be more transparent and regular. Consider adding more robust wellness benefits.

Decent job security for a growing FinTech.
Pros: It's a pretty solid place if you're in the FinTech industry. As a Software Engineer, I felt secure enough given the market growth. Our Singapore office is expanding, which definitely helps.
Cons: Things can shift fast, typical for a startup. Project priorities change sometimes, so there's always that slight uncertainty. It's not like a huge, old corporate job where everything is set in stone.
Advice to Management: Try to communicate future roadmaps and potential organizational changes a bit more clearly to help ease employee concerns about job security.

Hybrid work is okay, but needs more consistency
Pros: They do offer a hybrid work model, which is decent. You get a few WFH days a week if your team allows it. It's a busy environment, but you can sometimes adjust your start and end times for personal appointments.
Cons: The "flexibility" often depends heavily on your direct manager, so it's not consistent across the board for all engineering roles. Sometimes the WFH days feel mandatory rather than truly flexible, with lots of virtual meetings that make it tough to focus. Project deadlines in the mobile payments space can be pretty brutal, making real work-life balance and flexibility hard to achieve.
Advice to Management: Standardize the hybrid work model and ensure managers are consistent with how they apply flexibility. Empower teams to truly manage their own schedules better, especially for individual contributors in development.
