Good WFH for Engineering, but expect crunch times
Pros: The work-from-home setup is genuinely good. For us in cloud software engineering, being remote from Texas means I don't have a daily commute. They're pretty flexible with core hours, which helps a lot with personal appointments. It's a big tech company so the infrastructure for WFH is solid.
Cons: While remote work is there, there are definitely periods of crunch. Project deadlines in e-signature solutions can be intense, forcing longer hours than ideal. It's not always 40-hour weeks, especially as a senior engineer. Sometimes the 'flexibility' just means you can choose when to work more.
Advice to Management: Try to manage project scopes better to prevent engineers from constantly working overtime. More realistic timelines would improve overall work-life balance for software developers, even with the current remote flexibility.

Solid flexibility for remote Account Executives
Pros: I've really appreciated the WFH setup as a remote Account Executive. It's great to have control over my daily schedule and manage personal appointments. For a big tech company, they're pretty good with trusting us.
Cons: That said, it's not total freedom. There's definitely an expectation to be online during core business hours for client calls and team syncs. The sales targets can also make it tough to truly leverage that flexibility sometimes.
Advice to Management: Keep promoting work-from-home options, but clarify boundaries around 'always-on' expectations for sales roles. It helps manage burnout.

Decent work-life balance for tech roles here
Pros: Work-life balance here is pretty solid, especially if you manage your projects well. As a Software Engineer, I rarely had to work more than 40 hours a week. There's good flexibility with the hybrid model.
Cons: Sometimes there's pressure from management to take on too much, especially with new feature rollouts in our e-signature solutions. It can get stressful around quarter-end, and you might feel a slight crunch, but it usually doesn't last.
Advice to Management: Keep pushing for realistic project timelines. It really helps prevent burnout in the engineering teams.
