Pros: Being a Software Engineer at DAT Freight & Analytics has been great. The Denver team is super supportive, with solid learning opportunities in freight technology. Work flexibility, especially our hybrid model, really helps my work-life balance. It's a stable place with a collaborative culture.
Cons: Sometimes internal processes for new features can feel a bit slow. And like any software company, there are occasional busy periods requiring extra effort, but they're generally brief.
Advice to Management: Streamline some of the internal approval processes to help teams deliver new features faster.

Pros: The company has strong products in the freight matching platform industry, which is cool to work on. There's a decent hybrid work option if your manager is cool with it. The teams are generally collaborative and smart.
Cons: Real work flexibility depends a lot on your specific team and manager; it's not consistent across the board. You can't always do full remote work even if your role technically allows for it. Some teams in the Portland, OR office are still pretty rigid about being in the office.
Advice to Management: Try to standardize hybrid work and remote options more uniformly across all engineering teams. It makes a big difference for morale and retaining talent in transportation software.
