Supportive Team and Solid Healthcare Software Work
Pros: Working at Clinisys as a Software Engineer has been a really positive experience. The team culture is excellent; everyone is super supportive and willing to help. I've learned a lot working on essential healthcare software products. It's a stable company, which is great for job security. We're an onsite team, and the collaborative environment really makes a difference.
Cons: While there's a lot to like about working in the healthcare IT sector here, one area that could improve is the speed of career growth for individual contributors, especially Software Engineers. Promotions can feel a bit slow at times, and I wish there were clearer, faster pathways. Also, internal communication across different departments could be more streamlined to avoid minor project delays and make our onsite work more efficient.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining some of the internal approval processes to speed up project execution. Also, consider clearer pathways for internal career progression.

Solid Base Pay, But Benefits Could Improve
Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer here is pretty decent for the Rochester, NY area, especially in healthcare IT. I've felt fairly compensated on that front. They do offer a 401k match, which is a solid perk.
Cons: The health insurance costs are high, and the plans aren't great for a mid-sized tech company. Annual raises are usually pretty small, making it tough to keep up with inflation. The benefits package feels a bit outdated overall.
Advice to Management: Look at reducing health insurance premiums and improving the overall benefits package. More competitive annual raises would boost morale and retention in the software development teams.

Solid gig in healthcare IT, but some growing pains
Pros: The **healthcare IT** industry is really stable, so **job security** here is pretty solid. As an **Implementation Consultant**, I've found my skills in **LIMS software** are always in demand. The option for **remote work** is a big plus, too.
Cons: Sometimes internal processes feel a bit slow, like we're still catching up in some areas. There's not always a clear path for **career growth** if you're not in a development role. Work-life balance can be tough when you're on a big project, you're expected to really put in the hours.
Advice to Management: Focus on streamlining internal processes and developing clearer career paths for non-technical roles. Also, find ways to mitigate project crunch times to improve overall work-life balance for project teams.
