Pros: The pay is solid, especially for onsite rotation roles at the Wetara Site. You learn a ton about resource extraction quickly, which is great for career growth. Plus, the remote camp facilities are decent.
Cons: Work-life balance is tough, honestly. As a Site Geologist, you're working long shifts, often 12+ hours, for weeks straight. Personal time feels non-existent during your copper gold mining rotation, and that's hard to deal with.
Advice to Management: Management needs to seriously look at more sustainable and flexible shift patterns for core mining operations. Employee burnout is a real issue when people are consistently working such long hours on rotation. It's impacting morale.

Pros: The pay is solid for a Mining Engineer in this industry, no complaints there. Job security for onsite roles feels pretty good, you don't really worry about getting let go. It's a decent place to learn about the copper gold mining sector if you're just starting out.
Cons: But work-life balance here is rough. I'm usually clocking in 50-60 hour weeks, especially when you're at the site. There's almost no work flexibility; WFH just isn't an option for most of us. It's tough on personal life.
Advice to Management: Please look into managing workloads better for site-based roles. Burnout is a real issue when people are consistently working 50-60 hour weeks with no real break or flexibility. It's hard to retain talent that way.

Pros: I've gained solid onsite experience as a Junior Mining Engineer at the mine site operations in Morowali, Central Sulawesi. You get to see various aspects of copper and gold exploration and extraction up close. It's a good entry point if you're looking to just get your foot in the door in the mining industry.
Cons: Career growth here feels pretty stagnant after a year or so. There's not much structured mentorship or clear paths for promotion, especially for junior roles. Getting proper technical training beyond the basics is tough, you often have to seek it out yourself.
Advice to Management: Focus on creating clearer progression paths and invest more in formal technical training for younger engineers. Structured mentorship programs would really help retain talent in the mining sector.
