Pay's Decent, But Benefits Could Improve
Pros: The base salary for a Software Engineer here is pretty decent for the UK market, especially working fully remote. You won't get Silicon Valley pay, but it's competitive for a mid-sized SaaS company. The pension contribution is also solid.
Cons: The benefits package itself isn't amazing; there aren't many extra perks you'd see at bigger tech firms. Raises and bonus potential feel a bit limited for technical roles. If you're looking for strong stock options or a huge bonus, you won't find it here.
Advice to Management: Revisit the overall benefits package and bonus structure for technical roles. It would help attract and retain top Software Engineer talent in this competitive HR tech market.

Good company, but watch your hours
Pros: I've really enjoyed the team culture here. Everyone's pretty supportive, which is great for remote work. The product in the HR tech industry is decent, and there's always something new to learn.
Cons: Work-life balance as an Implementation Consultant can be tough. It's not uncommon to work more than 40 hour weeks, especially during busy project phases. There's a lot of pressure to meet client deadlines, which sometimes means late nights.
Advice to Management: Try to staff projects better to prevent burnout, especially for client-facing Implementation Consultant roles. More focus on actual 40-hour weeks would help.

Leadership needs more consistency and clear vision
Pros: I've learned a ton as a Software Engineer here. The immediate team leads are super supportive and knowledgeable. It's a solid place to grow your technical skills in e-learning software development.
Cons: Upper leadership often feels pretty disconnected from the daily operations. Decisions, especially for the product roadmap in our HR tech solutions, can change without clear reasoning. This makes it tough to plan long-term.
Advice to Management: Try to be more transparent with strategic changes. Involve the engineering and product teams more in high-level decision-making for our e-learning products. Better communication from the top would help a lot with morale.
