Stable, but career growth is slow
Pros: I've learned a lot about industrial automation and sensor technology. There's a really solid, stable environment here, which is nice. The hybrid work setup in the Mannheim office is also a decent perk for flexibility.
Cons: Career growth for a Software Engineer is pretty slow. It feels like you hit a ceiling fast, and promotion paths aren't very clear. There aren't many opportunities for moving up unless someone leaves the team, which can be frustrating.
Advice to Management: Define clearer career paths and offer more internal mobility for employees, especially in technical roles like software engineering. This would help retain talent and keep people engaged.

Solid culture, but it's a big place
Pros: The culture feels very stable and pretty traditional. People are generally decent and helpful, especially within our smaller teams as a Software Engineer. There's a good sense of job security too.
Cons: Things can really move slowly here. Decision-making for new industrial automation projects takes ages to get approval. It's not the most dynamic environment if you're looking for fast-paced innovation in the Cleveland, Ohio office.
Advice to Management: Try to speed up decision-making processes and empower teams more for innovation in industrial automation. Embrace modern work styles where possible to attract fresh talent.

Decent Work-Life Balance for Engineers
Pros: I appreciated the hybrid work option, which really helped on slower weeks. For Electrical Engineer roles, they do try to stick to a 40-hour work week most of the time. The Twinsburg office environment is pretty chill when things aren't hectic.
Cons: When major industrial automation projects ramp up, you can definitely expect longer hours. It's not always easy to maintain that work-life balance during those crunch periods. Flexibility isn't a given when deadlines loom.
Advice to Management: Try to better manage project loads to prevent regular crunch times, especially for engineering teams. More proactive resource planning would greatly help maintain work-life balance.
